NEMT Owner Earns Enterprising Women Award

Enterprising Women magazine has announced that NEMT President Linda Sullivan has been given honorable mention for the Enterprising Women of the Year Award.

Sullivan, who owns the Maine-based medical transcription firm, was selected out of hundreds of nominees from around the world. Enterprising Women magazine received an unprecedented number of entries for this year’s competition, which honors women who have demonstrated that they have fast-growth businesses, mentor or actively support other women and girls involved in entrepreneurship, and stand out as leaders in their communities.

As the president of NEMT, Sullivan has piloted the company through a growth rate of 33%, year over year for the last three years.  That expansion has led to NEMT being named one of Inc. 5000's fastest-growing companies for the fourth year in a row.

Before entering the transcription industry, Sullivan worked in a family newspaper business, international trading business, fitness business, and several retail ventures. Twenty years ago, she began her career as a medical transcriptionist and launched New England Medical Transcription. Today, the company has more than 250 employees and contractors and provides transcription services and health information solutions to hospitals and clinics across the country.
