AHDI Waives Dues for Student Members

The Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) has announced that beginning February 1, 2016, membership dues for all health care documentation students are being waived as part of its Building Futures program. Complimentary student membership is available to an unlimited number of health care documentation students, with benefits to prepare them for a successful career. This includes a subscription to Plexus e-magazine, discounts on credentialing exams, and help desk support.

AHDI's leaders identified engaging students and mentoring them into the workforce as credentialed professionals as a top priority. To achieve this, AHDI's board unanimously approved waiving the membership dues, making it easy for students to say "yes" to joining AHDI. AHDI will continue to develop new benefits and programs to support students' professional development.

Educators of medical transcription/health care documentation schools or programs are encouraged to share this information with students and promote the value of joining AHDI. A webpage has been created with information about AHDI student membership: www.ahdionline.org/?page=studentmem.
