Michigan Physician Group Joins HIE

Oakland Physician Network Services (OPNS), an independent physician organization with more than 425 physicians located throughout southeast Michigan, has selected my1HIE (My One Health Information Exchange) to electronically connect its members to the healthcare community. This collaborative solution provides OPNS member physicians a high-value, low-risk method to securely communicate and access a full suite of clinical applications.

OPNS is joining four other physician organizations in participation with my1HIE. Now OPNS member physicians will be able to collaborate on patient care with the more than 4,000 currently connected physicians who are utilizing My Workspace, my1HIE’s physician Web portal.

my1HIE uses a physician organization distribution model for easier adoption and increased success. Physicians constantly collaborate with each other and practice as networks of physicians. Working with physician organizations allows my1HIE to bring up an entire network of doctors, which will improve the coordination of clinical information, enhance patient care, and reduce the cost of healthcare.

Participating physicians utilize My Workspace, the physician Web portal, to connect to the HIE, share patient information and access clinical applications, including e-prescribing, patient registries, e-labs, and secure HIPAA-compliant communication tools through a single sign-on interface.
