Oct. 16 - Certification Commission Names New Commissioners The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology has named three new commissioners and re-appointed two existing commissioners to serve two-year terms on its 21-member board beginning this month. The Commission solicited applications for specific stakeholder positions from the following groups: health information exchanges; informatics experts; public health agencies; safety net providers; and ambulatory care providers. A total of 35 applications were received and the Trustees unanimously approved the appointment of the commissioners. The Board of Commissioners oversees and approves the development of certification criteria by the Commission’s voluntary work groups and supporting staff, and its composition is designed to ensure representation from a wide variety of stakeholders. The new commissioners are: * Linda Hogan, PhD, Vice President, Clinical Informatics
& Operations, Pittsburgh Mercy Health System (Informatics) Two commissioners were reappointed to new two-year terms. They are: * Abha Agrawal, MD, FACP, Director, Medical Informatics;
Associate Medical Director, Kings County Hospital Center, New York (Safety
