Dec. 31 - Allscripts Electronic Health Record Ranked No. 1 by Physician Groups in KLAS Year-End Report

Allscripts, the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, today announced that the company's TouchWorks™ Electronic Health Record (EHR) was named the No. 1 product in its market segment by the prestigious research group, KLAS.

TouchWorks earned the "Best in KLAS" designation as the top Electronic Health Record for practices with between 26 and 100 physicians, according to the Top 20: 2007 Year-End Best in KLAS report. KLAS rankings are generated by in-depth interviews with thousands of actual end-users of the products reviewed.

In earning the No. 1 overall ranking in the mid-market EHR segment, Allscripts was rated first in 31 out of the 40 individual categories in the KLAS Vendor Relationship Evaluation, which covers everything from implementation, training, service and quality to whether the product and vendor lived up to expectations. Allscripts earned its highest marks from customers for delivering full implementation within the agreed-upon budget.

KLAS is a research and consulting firm specializing in monitoring and reporting the performance of healthcare information technology (HIT) vendors. The firm's Top 20: 2007 Year-End Best in KLAS report provides its summary of HIT product and service performance data collected over the past 13 months as reported by integrated delivery networks (IDNs), physician groups and inpatient facilities. The KLAS database represents the opinions of healthcare executives, managers, and clinicians from over 4,500 healthcare facilities on more than 300 vendors and over 500 different products.

"Our top placement in KLAS, the 'Consumer Reports' of healthcare information technology, reaffirms the leadership position that Allscripts has gained in the marketplace with our solutions for physician groups and hospitals," said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. "We are particularly proud of our top ranking in KLAS because it is ultimately based on one thing -- our ability to deliver for our clients."
