2009 TEPR Awards Honorees Announced

The Medical Records Institute recently announced the 2009 TEPR Awards honorees during the opening session of the TEPR+ conference in Palm Springs, Calif.

TEPR Awards recognize outstanding HIT and electronic medical record innovations and solutions. Award honorees are chosen annually in a range of categories. The 2009 TEPR Awards honorees are the following:

Personal Health Record Systems
Recognizing superior providers of personal health record systems based on criteria such as data integrity, security, and consumer control:
1st Honors: My HealtheVet by Department of Veterans Affairs
2nd Honors: Metavente Health Manager by Metavente (formerly CapMed)
3rd Honors: Doctations by Doctations Inc

Hot Products
Recognizing the most innovative IT products that bring the most positive benefits or change to healthcare:
1st Honors: PrivacyLayer, RecruitSource, and TrialsFinder by Private Access Inc
2nd Honors (tie): TapChart by ImageTrend Inc; iChart EMR by Caretools Inc; Doctations by Doctations Inc

According to Claudia Tessier, Medical Records Institute vice president and organizer of the TEPR Awards, “Our goal in holding this yearly awards program is to recognize vendors’ investments in producing valuable health IT products and to help potential consumers make their selections.”
