MediMatrix Joins Optimus EMR To Improve Patient Care Nationwide

New Partnership Will Increase Accuracy of Patient Records

Some of America’s most vulnerable patients are about to experience an improvement in their care thanks to a new information sharing relationship between MediMatrix and Optimus EMR (OEMR).

MediMatrix specializes in designing Web application services for portable radiology technologists who provide X-rays and ultrasounds for residents of nursing homes and other acute care facilities.  OEMR has long been recognized as a leader in creating EMRs software for those long-term care facilities.  “There’s a huge demand for what Optimus does,” says Brad Nelson, cofounder of WebInterstate, the parent company of MediMatrix.  “We’re pleased to be their partner and together we will greatly enhance the delivery of services to the mobile radiology industry.”

Large nursing facilities in the Midwest and East Coast regions are about to see how much more efficiently their operations will run when MediMatrix and OEMR interface.  Installation and testing of facilities in those regions began in September.  This integration allows seamless transmission of exam orders from the OEMR into the MediMatrix application.  MediMatrix then securely transfers DICOM images and the order information to one or more radiology groups and automatically sends final reports back into the OEMR for immediate viewing by the patient’s physician.

Current customers of both MediMatrix and OEMR can opt to install this integrated system.  “Customers will have a competitive edge by offering the integrated Optimus EMR software and MediMatrix service to their facilities,” added Nelson.

Together MediMatrix and OEMR are advancing EMR interoperability, simplifying the process for their customers and making it more cost effective for everyone involved.  According to Optimus CEO Robert Davis, it’s speeding up necessary testing and physician diagnosis that will help achieve the ultimate goal of both companies— increasing the accuracy of patient records and improving patient care.

About Optimus EMR (OEMR)
Optimus EMR has built a reputation as a leader in creating electronic medical records software for long-term care patients.  Optimus was founded in 2000 with the anticipation that eventually all paper charts would need to be replaced with electronic ones.  Over the years, that insightful “need” for EMRs became a federal government mandate.  While some software companies are scrambling to develop the EMR software necessary to meet government deadlines, Optimus is already at the forefront in the post-acute care industry.  OEMR experts believe their system improves record accuracy and patient care while it increases profitability for its customers.  OEMR serves about 400 facilities in 33 states.  More information about Optimus EMR is available at www.optimusemr.com or by calling 888-242-9080.
