Be Bold at HFMA

By Cate Hayes

This year’s Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Annual Conference will take place from June 23 to 26 in Orlando, Florida. Through a combination of both general sessions and small group cohorts, the HFMA conference aims to inspire attendees to spark change and become leaders in the industry, while also educating on the transformations that health care is facing today.

Breakout sessions for this conference will focus on the following topics:

The small group cohorts allow attendees to spend the entire day learning about one of the following topics:

The 2019 conference’s keynote speakers will address the changing health care climate and how health care can be made accessible to all. Marcus Whitney, CEO and cofounder of Health: Further, will talk about how health care professionals should adjust to a shifting industry in “The Winds of Change Are Blowing.”

In her presentation “Health Care Without Walls: A Roadmap for Reinventing U.S. Health Care,” Susan Dentzer, a leading health care and policy expert and visiting fellow at Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy, will discuss where technology will lead the industry.

Through the use of satire and storytelling, “Healthcare Remixed” by Zubin Damania, MD, also known as ZDoggMD, and internist/founder of Turntable Health, will explore how today’s health care industry can be reinvigorated.

New to the conference this year is a centralized venue called HFMA Central. This new space will make it easier for attendees to navigate and build connections, as well as help to establish a sense of community within the conference.
