CSC Finalizes iSOFT Acquisition

CSC recently announced it has closed the acquisition of iSOFT Group Limited, a provider of advanced HIT solutions. The acquisition complements and strengthens CSC’s software products and healthcare integration and services portfolio and enhances its healthcare research and development capabilities.

Adding iSOFT’s 3,000 global employees, including those from major research and development centers in India, Spain, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Central Europe, expands CSC’s capability to support existing customers and develop more innovative solutions and adds a robust set of clients in new and emerging markets.

Thomas W. Butts Joins ZirMed as CEO

ZirMed, a provider of software-as-a-service–based revenue cycle management solutions, recently announced the addition of Thomas W. Butts as its new president and CEO. Butts will also serve as a member of ZirMed’s board of directors. He brings more than 27 years of experience in the healthcare technology industry and has served as general manager of GE Healthcare, president and chief operating officer of IDX Systems Corporation, and CEO of Optos, Plc.
 
ZirMed provides technology solutions to improve administrative and payment processes for healthcare businesses. Butts replaces Jerry Merritt, ZirMed’s former president and CEO, who has stepped down from the position for personal reasons.

MGMA President & CEO Joining Integrated Healthcare Strategies

Integrated Healthcare Strategies, a healthcare consulting firm providing alignment, engagement, and performance enhancement solutions, has announced that William F. Jessee, MD, FACMPE, FACPM, will join the firm as senior vice president and senior advisor. Jessee will join Integrated Healthcare Strategies in October 2011 following his retirement as the president and CEO of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), where he presided for 12 years. In addition to his role with Integrated Healthcare Strategies, Jessee also holds an academic appointment as clinical professor of health systems, policy, and management at the University of Colorado School of Public Health.


Jessee is an internationally recognized public speaker on healthcare issues, especially for his knowledge on hospital-physician relations, physician integration strategies, physician leadership development, health policy, and quality of care. He has authored more than 90 scientific articles, books, and book chapters. Jessee’s professional acknowledgements include status as a fellow in the American College of Preventive Medicine, an honorary fellow of the American College of Medical Quality, an honorary fellow of the American College of Physician Executives, and a board-certified medical practice executive and fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives

Prior to his role with the MGMA, Jessee served as vice president for quality and managed care standards at the American Medical Association.

Burnett Appointed CIO of Just Associates

Just Associates, Inc, a consulting firm specializing in data integrity and data quality solutions for the health information exchange, HIM, health informatics, and HIT markets, has appointed Deborah Burnett as its chief information officer (CIO).
 
As CIO, Burnett is responsible for driving the firm’s IT efforts, including overseeing the infrastructure and standards that support it business mission. She is also charged with overseeing the ongoing evolution of IDMaster, Just Associates’ proprietary duplicate workflow software that creates a more efficient duplicate reconciliation process.
 
Prior to joining Just Associates, Burnett was a product engineer manager with InfoTrust Group. Previous positions include software development manager for Perficient, Inc and Sun Microsystems. She is an active member of the AHIMA, Scrum Alliance, and Agile Denver.
