Coding Strategies President to Receive AHRA Gold Award

Melody W. Mulaik, MSHS, president and cofounder of Coding Strategies, Inc, will be honored at the 2016 AHRA Annual Meeting with the AHRA Gold Award, the highest honor AHRA can bestow upon one of its members. The award is given to an AHRA member who has made significant contributions to the association and, thus, to the profession of imaging and health care administration. The Gold Award Task Force reviews nominations submitted by the membership. All members of AHRA are eligible to be considered for the award.

Mulaik has been an active member of the AHRA since 2001. Her support of AHRA through a generous commitment of shared knowledge and energy in volunteer service and leadership is an important part of the AHRA's continued growth. Her contribution to the association, she writes a bimonthly coding column for AHRA Radiology Management, presents as a subject matter expert at AHRA Annual Meetings, and serves AHRA as the liaison to the American College of Radiology Economics Commission. She has also served as vice-chair of the AHRA Regulatory Affairs Committee.

"Working with the AHRA community is truly a rewarding endeavor. When you believe in the goals and vision of an association, you want to provide support and be involved in any way possible. The AHRA's dedication to their member's needs, and the needs of the radiology industry, are what drew me to them and what keeps me seeking out new ways to be involved.   I am humbled and honored to receive this award and to be recognized by my colleagues and members of the AHRA."

Also being honored with the Gold Award this year is Carlos E. Vasquez. The awards will be presented at a private reception during the 2016 AHRA Annual Meeting and in front of the general assembly during the closing session on Wednesday, August 3. The AHRA 44th Annual Meeting and Exposition will be hosted at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, July 31 – August 3. The meeting will host over 1,000 imaging leaders and 200 exhibitors for this premier educational event for radiology administration. Learn more or register online at www.ahraonline.org
