Diameter Health and Indiana Health Information Exchange Continue Collaboration Following Successful Pilot

Diameter Health, an enabler of clinical insight through the cleansing, deduplication, and enrichment of clinical data across the care continuum, has announced that Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE), the health information exchange (HIE) with the largest interorganizational clinical data repository in the country, will roll out its deployment of the Fusion, Analyze, and Quality applications to automate processes and standardize data interchange between payers, providers, and other constituents following a successful pilot period.

Reaching over 14,000 health care providers serving 14 million patients in Indiana and neighboring states, IHIE initially deployed Diameter Health's scalable normalization and standardization services to increase its aggregation of clinical data for initiatives like population health and quality reporting. In a successful pilot with a major national insurer and IHIE, Diameter Health increased yield of clinical results, such as medications and vaccines, from covering only 10% of members to covering over 90%.

"We selected Diameter Health for the scalability of its technology and its ability to easily integrate into our existing data infrastructure," says John Kansky, president and CEO of IHIE. "With deployment, we expect to realize continued measurable improvements in the accuracy and completeness of the information we manage and distribute. With Diameter Health, we're able to give hospitals, payers, and other members of the network a more holistic view of the patient for more efficient care and better outcomes."

IHIE will continue using the Diameter Health platform to gather more complete and accurate clinical data in order to reduce unnecessary tests, replace retrospective chart reviews, and better manage contract alignment for its customers. Ongoing data surveillance ensures that new data IHIE processes is consistent with its baseline data. And, as an National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)-certified eMeasure solution, Diameter Health creates standard supplemental data to support HEDIS measures used by the health care payers IHIE serves.

"IHIE is one of the most highly regarded HIEs, and has the largest interorganizational clinical data repository in the nation," says Eric Rosow, CEO of Diameter Health. "In fact, Diameter Health processed more data for IHIE in our pilot than many HIEs have overall. We're thrilled to continue powering actionable analytics for a leading HIE with a demonstrated commitment to innovation."

Diameter Health's Fusion application enables IHIE to standardize and enrich clinical data, creating a single, longitudinal patient view to support value-based care models, accountable care initiatives, and improve outcomes along the continuum of care. The Analyze application measures clinical data completeness and accuracy to create instant ratings and inform IHIE's ongoing quality improvement initiatives. The Quality application, certified by the NCQA, automates clinical quality reporting, and creates standard supplemental data for HEDIS and STAR reporting. Together, the applications will bring IHIE closer to achieving the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's Triple Aim: improve patient experience, improve the health of populations, and reduce the cost of health care.
