HBMA, Coding Strategies Collaborate to Offer Education Tools

The Healthcare Billing and Management Association (HBMA) has partnered with Coding Strategies, Inc, to provide its 500 member organizations, representing more than 47,000 revenue cycle professionals, access to numerous specialty curricula and insightful webinars via the all new HBMA eUniversity, a portal to Coding Strategies' online learning content.

The Coding Strategies Online Learning Center includes more than 80 web-based courses and hot-topic on-demand webinars that teach accurate and compliant coding for optimal reimbursement. Throughout each course, users learn from detailed coding instruction, actual dictated reports and exercises to gain a complete understanding of each presented coding concept. Select courses are approved for CEUs from AAPC and AHIMA. Some radiology curricula are also approved by the Radiology Coding Certification Board. On-Demand webinars provide a convenient, cost-effective way to stay current on the latest trends, delivering specialty-focused insights, tips, and strategies when you need them.

Melody W. Mulaik, president of Coding Strategies, Inc, states, "We appreciate this opportunity to support HBMA, and its members, and to bring these educational opportunities to the health care community. We hope that members will take advantage of this opportunity to receive top notch online training to improve their efficiency and ensure appropriate reimbursement for the clients they serve."

Included with the HBMA eUniversity, as a bonus to members, is access to the five-part on-demand webinar series Coding & Compliance for Billing Departments. The series provides valuable insight to the issues billing professionals face daily including Credit Balances, Performing Provider, Modifier 24, 25 and 59, the Claims Submission Process, and Medical Necessity/ABNs.

"We were looking for a way to complement our on-demand education content to our members in a convenient format," says Holly Louie, HBMA president. "The Coding Strategies Online Learning Center's online courses, on-demand webinars, and ease of access for members made it the perfect solution to our desire to create an eUniversity."

The HBMA eUniversity will officially be launched at the HBMA 2016: The Healthcare Revenue Cycle Conference, being hosted in Atlanta, September 21-23, 2016. Members will have the opportunity to register for the portal at the Coding Strategies booth #504. Members not attending the show will receive information on how to register their user accounts from HBMA after the conference.
