AHIOS Names New President

The Association of Health Information Outsourcing Services (AHIOS) has announced the appointment of its new president—Matt Rohs. Rohs took the helm of the association as of January 1.

As president of AHIOS, Rohs will work to lead the organization’s efforts to strengthen, enhance, and raise awareness of the HIM outsourcing industry while establishing standards of excellence for the entire industry to follow through legislative, regulatory, and legal processes.

An industry veteran, Rohs has worked in the ROI industry for more than 20 years. As vice president and general manager of HealthPort, Rohs is responsible for all field operational activities and financial outcomes for the division. Prior to joining HealthPort, Rohs started his own ROI business where he worked for 10 years.

Rohs succeeds Bonnie J. Coffey in this position, a long-standing charter member of AHIOS. Coffey is currently president and CEO of CM Information Specialists, a company that she founded in 1986 to provide outsourcing services in release of medical information and temporary help and consulting to HIM departments. She will continue to support AHIOS’ goals as an active member of the association.
